New admin permissions

As your team grows, your access controls should scale with you—without introducing risk or bottlenecks.

Now, with expanded Admin permissions and team-level two-factor authentication (2FA), you can distribute responsibility across trusted team members and strengthen your team’s security.

Give admins shared access to billing & security

Account Owners can now grant Admins additional permissions to access plans & billing, and security settings.

For example, let’s say your team’s Account Owner, Jenny, is out of the office on a well-earned vacation to the Bahamas. You’re one of three Float admins, and you get a request from your CFO to add a few of the new starters and contractors. As an Admin with the right permissions, you can act immediately so operations can keep rolling without interruption—and so can Jenny’s PTO.

A small update to billing guests

With this change, we’ve also streamlined how billing access works.

All existing users with Billing access will automatically be renamed to Admins with the plans & billing permission. Their user type will remain Guest.

⭐️ Important: This update only affects the naming and structure of the permission. There are no changes to pricing, access, or functionality for your team.

Set 2FA as the security standard for your team

As your organization grows, security should get stronger. With mandatory, team-level two-factor authentication (2FA), you can set a secure baseline for everyone on your team.

Turn on team-level 2FA in Team settings → Security, and require every current and future user to verify their identity with a second step when signing in with email and password.

Team-wide 2FA enforcement is available on Pro and Enterprise plans only. Coming soon, we’ll offer all teams, including Starter, the option of individual 2FA, so every team can enable secure sign-in.
