New: quickly map out projects with the new project view

When you’re in the early stages of planning, you don’t always have all the details, but you still need a way to get ideas out of your head and onto the schedule. The new project view, project overview bar, and quick add shortcut make it easier than ever.

Whether you’re scoping out potential work, deciding on timelines, or just trying to see how a new scope might fit into your team’s current workload, the project view helps you focus and move fast.

Track costs, margin, and profitability in real time

Make smarter resourcing decisions with immediate financial feedback. As you build your plan, the project view automatically updates with estimated costs and margin, giving you full visibility into profitability from the start.

If you’re working within a set budget, the budget utilization tab shows exactly how your allocations are tracking, so you can adjust early and stay on target.

Build project timelines lightning fast with Q

When you enter the Project view, “Quick add” (Q) mode is enabled by default so  you can jump straight into planning. Start adding team members, sketch out allocations, and adjust as you go.

Prefer a more hands-on approach? You can disable quick add by pressing (A) for Add/Edit mode or by switching in the right-click menu.

Designed for early-stage planning... and beyond

This update is perfect for when:

  • You’re still confirming the scope or timeline
  • You want to move around allocations and test out different resourcing
  • You need to collaborate with stakeholders before committing anything to the full Schedule view
  • You want to keep your planning separate from confirmed work, so you can play around without impacting the team’s live workload

💡 Pro tip: don’t stop at early-stage planning! You can keep using Project view throughout an entire project to track changes, monitor budgets, and make adjustments on in-flight work.
